Flu vaccination is covered by insurance, and only $25 if you are paying cash...worth every penny to avoid accidentally spreading the illness to a vulnerable person, a week of this common, but severe fall and winter illness, and up to month or more of recovery.
The vaccine is available only in the shot form and will be provided only to the following high risk groups (no exceptions):
· Children ages 6mo to Young adults age 24
· Health care workers
· Teachers and Day care workers
· Pregnant women
· Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age
· Household contacts of pregnant women
· Adults age 25-65 who have underlying chronic health conditons (such as asthma, diabetes, COPD, kidney problems, or decreased immune system problems such as rheumatoid arthritis)
The shot is only available at this time in a multi-dose vial, meaning it will contain a small amount of thimerosol. MINORS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT or guardian (no exceptions).
(ONLY) IF YOU ARE A REGULAR CLIENT and if you are setting up an appointment for the vaccine only, please go to www.charisclinic.com and click on “Schedule an appointment” to set up a 15 MINUTE (boxes for the time slots are underneath the schedule). In reason for appointment, list the number of family members who will be receiving the vaccine. Due to the high volume of people looking to receive this vaccine, please do not call to make an appointment.
Please come 15 minutes early for your appointment to complete any paperwork required. You may also elect to have the vaccine at an appointment for another reason or to come to the Saturday, November 20 immunization clinic (see below). If you plan to come on November 20, please email me so that I can put you on the list.
IF YOU ARE NOT A REGULAR CLIENT but would like to receive the vaccine, you will be eligible to receive the vaccine on Saturday, November 20 from 9am-12pm on a space available basis. if you meet the criteria above you must EMAIL me to let me know that you intend on arriving for the flu clinic on November 20. I will send you a time to arrive for your vaccine.
